Original era manufacture. A blue leather covered handbook with gilt lettering Published in 1898 with clothing entries from May of 1899.  Issued to a soldier named Frank A. McCauber, serving in the 5th Regiment Cavalary. Covers a bit loose, pages and handwritten entries are legible. Post service use for the little book became an accounting and home furniture listing. Of note, on the back pages are written serial numbers for 2 carbines, and 2 pistols. Worthy of further research.
