Original era manufacture. An honest original example, dark tan wool felt body with a like colored silk ribbon at the base of the crown. Pinhole, snowflake pattern ventilators on each side of the hat. Original wide brown leather sweatband which is marked in silver "Regulation U.S. Army Hat". On the hat at the time of our purchase, are these very nice conditioned cap cords in red and yellow wool, but I am not sure what corps or department they represent. The hat is clean for its age, and not crushed or broken. There is a5x10 mm cut in the brim at the 2 o'clock position, perhaps caused by a hungry mouse while being stored. The sweatband is sound, but has a black spot onlower edge. I can't make up my mind if this was caused by heat or moisture. In either case it is there.
