US Spanish American War Officers Buckle & Mess Equipment Grouping

Original era manufacture. A nice little lot grouping once belonging to an officer of the  1st New Jersey Infantry Regiment. The grouping consists of his officers quality buckle, private purchase soap dish and a NGNJ marked issue knife and fork. Two period, handwritten notes accompany the items stating their use at this time and details of other officers who served with the man. His name is not given, however it is noted that he was the first  2nd Lt of Company G. That keeps the door open for additional research. Normal age and wear, no damage.
