Original period manufacture. Gray-tan wool felt campaign hat, with officer quality wire embroidered cap cords. Rigid brim with a formed crown featuring a fore and aft crease. Brown leather sweatband with a shield shaped J.B.Stetson logo on one side, and on the other the retailer logo of A.Goldberg of Spartensburg S.C. (in business 1906-1928). The sweatband is intact but loose on one side. Their are two rectangular slits in the brim, one on each side of the crown, which once secured a thin brown leather chinstrap. Only the ends of the strap remain in place. Matching color silk ribbon around the base of the crown. There are a few minor spots of moth tracking but no holes. Size about a 6. Evidence of an insignia on the front of the hat.
