A massive, two volume set, beautifully bound in cloth and leather with gilt decoration.The2 volumes cover the history of the Massachusetts Militia from its founding up to theturn of the 20th century. Volume 1 is 750 pages, volume 2is 556 pages. Both are profusely illustrated with biographies and photographs of many of the officers involved in the state's service.The books are very sound for the age, with no issues beyond normal handling and wear.
