Original period manufacture. This wonderful grouping came to light at an estate/yard sale in the Phoenix area. It consists of a WWI steel helmet with liner and chinstrap, displaying on its front a hand painted rendition of the US 30th Division insignia. A small lot of mixed US & German buttons, watch fob, 30th Division patch, buckle and collar emblems. The prize in the grouping is the original British WWI Box Respirator and canvas carrier. The canvas carrier also bears the 30th Division insignia. During WWI, the US 30th Infantry Division AEF fought alongside British and Australian units during the Somme Offensive, Ypres-Lys Offensive and in Flanders in 1918. Overall the grouping displays honest age and wear, with all components matching themselves in condition.
