Original era manufacture. Pliable dark brown leather scabbard with sound stitching. Faint markings and 1918 date near the top on one side. The strap loops are sound and the carrying straps appear to be of the correct width. The leather body shows surface marring from service use, however the leather has a nice surface luster. Not heavily oiled, slightly flattened, but certainly not a pancake, showing evidence of actually having carried a rifle at one time.
