Original era manufacture. Standard model helmet 1917 pattern WWI helmet with it's original chinstrap and liner with instruction tag. On the front of the helmet is a big black "A" with a red stenciled Engineer castle between the legs, 1st Army AEF, Engineers. Solid WWI Doughboy Helmet of the old 1st Army, established in August 1918, whose personnel directed A.E.F. operations in the St.Miheil and Meuse Argonne offensives, under the overall command of "Black Jack" Pershing.
