Original era grouping. US WWI identified soldier with the 332nd Infantry who died in Italy from exposure at the age of 20. The grouping includes several pieces of insignia removed from his uniform, a postcard photo of him with two Pards, and a clipping from a local Ohio newspaper giving details of his death and service. The effects includes insignia removed from his heavily mothed uniform, consisting of an original Italian made 332nd SSI, a heavily mothed 83rd Division SSI, a single overseas or wound stripe, and fragments of an Italian WWI campaign medal ribbon. Good reseach potential, from the only US Army regiment to serve in the Italian Front during WWI.
