Item #69463 : Original period manufacture. White worsted wool flag measuring 46 x 72 inches, with a yellow fringe around three sides. Three inch wide white cotton hoist, with internal leather connecting tabs top and bottom, inside the hoist sleeve is a makers tag clearly dated 1918. On the lower left side of the hoist is an inked autograph signature, Douglas Mac Arthur Brig. Gen. U.S.A. I have checked this against other online sources of the General's signature and it is very, very similar to those. Machine sewn to on both sides of the flag body is a red-yellow-blue wool rainbow emblem, the divisional insignia of the 42nd Division, with machine sewn numerals 42 on the obverse side only. No moth issues to report, just some spots of minor staining from age and use.
