Original period manufacture. Red cotton embroidery on white wool felt material, measures 3 x 1.75 inches. Honest age and wear overall. During WWI The 71st served in France; armed with 8 inch Howitzers, they had nearly completed training for field service prior to November 11th 1918. On the 12th of February 1919, they began their journey back to the United States aboard the US Transport Manchuria.
