Original era manufacture. Standard pattern US M1917 steel helmet with a rough combat finish. Handpainted 91st Division emblem on the helmet's front, with original liner and complete chinstrap. There are three holes on each side of the rim, these allow the attachment of the Wilmer Eye Shield, one of the crazy contraptions cooked up to protect the eyes of soldiers in the trenches during WWI. During WWI the 91st fought in the St.Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne battles. Normal age and wear throughout.
