Original era manufacture. Private purchase, standard pattern enlisted coat of the WWI period. Dark olive brown wool four pocket coat with all regulation darkened metal buttons present. Enlisted US and Air Service discs mounted on the collar. On the left shoulder is a 1st Army SSI with an Aviation roundel between the legs of the A. On the left cuff are two gold brocade overseas stripes indicating one year's service. On the right sleeve is a private purchase corporal chevron with a silver wire embroidered winged propeller. Olive green thin wool lining with an elaborate makers label sewn to an interior pocket. There is some damage to the liner in the form of mothing and a large tear in the lining at the lower left. The exterior of the coat is clear of major moth issues, several pencil point bites throughout, with a few larger bites on the back panel. Size about a 38 regular. With the coat at the time of our purchase is this pair of WWI breeches, waistband 33 inches, inseam 27 inches. Button fly with belt loops. Minor moth bites, but overall the breeches are quite clean.
