Original era manufacture. Perhaps the most unusual WWI uniform set we have ever offered; in nearly 50 years of collecting, I cannot remember us ever having a similar set. The grouping contains the following: Six button, gray wool tunic with two lower pockets. White ceramic buttons secured with split rings, issue tag in the collar which reads Convalescent Coat, Small. Sewn inside the right lower pocket is a makers tag from the Sigmund Eisner Company dated 1919. Pale gray flannel collarless shirt which is US stamped and dated 1917 in the inside of the collar. Three button front, with an additional off-set button by the collar. Medium gray, thin cotton trousers with a 1.5 inch wide black cotton stripe down the outside of each leg. These are clearly stamped in several areas with U.S. and the date of 1917. The overall condition of the three garments is unworn, just rumpled from storage and handling over the last 100 years.
