Original era manufacture. US WWI private purchase (Brooks Brothers NY) wool enlisted uniform set with discharge document in leather wallet. All of this came in with a recent collection purchase, with all insignia on the coat at that time. Standard WWI coat & breeches with some fairly severe mothing on the right shoulder, with numerous moth bites and repairs to the wool breeches. The breeches are unmarked and of a slightly darker shade of olive brown. The documents were presented to Harry D. Meyers #2696093, showing that he was a Private 1st class who was inducted May 15, 1918. He served overseas in France until July 1919. Although neither the coat or breeches are named to him, his documentation states that he was transferred to G.H.Q. Gas & Oil Bn Oct.27 1918, and Oct.30 1918 to QMC detachment GHQ.
