Original era manufacture. Olive wool top with a tan ribbed wool band. Light brown leather adjustable chinstrap with a matching bound edge visor. Darkened bronze eagle and side buttons. Brown leather sweatband, pliable, loose in spots, golden tan cotton lining with an intact sweatshield, which is maker marked, Abercrombie & Fitch Co. New York. Named in ink on the sweatband, F.E.Dock, with impressed initials F.E.D. Possibly Frank E. Dock, who served as a 2nd Lt. in the Ordnance Corps, attached to Engineer Division Aircraft Armament to discharge. The hand is sound, displaying typical service wear and use. No real moth issues to report, there is wear to the front visor edge, and one of the chinstrap slides is missing, size about a 6 3/4.
