Original era manufacture. A British made, US issue Doughboy helmet, complete with a partial liner and full leather chinstrap. The liner is missing its gray felt crown lining, the rubber doughnut ring is there but it is folded over and very stiff. The underside of the black oilcloth sweatband displays a very clear Brodie's Patent stamping.Stamped into the surface of the pliable leather chinstrap is AEF, William Dose, Medical Detachment, 115 AM. (Ammunition) TR. (Train) BN along with his service number. Good start for some research.
