Original era manufacture. A great WWI Doughboy used canteen, cup and cover set, to a soldier in the 5th Infantry Division.Standard 1910 aluminum canteen, Divisionally marked, 1918 dated canteen cup, and a very well marked, 1917 dated canvas cover. The canteen shows typical service denting to its body, but retains its original cork inside the cap. The cup is maker marked AGM Co 1918, with the 5th Division emblem applied to both the body of the cup and handle. The soldiers name, "Long" is crudely scratched into the bottom of the cup.The khaki canvas cover is dated 1917, with the red diamond emblem of the 5th Division painted on the front. In addition, the soldiers name is stenciled at the bottom of the front cover, and his unit details on its reverse.Honest service wear from a division which saw combat at St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne.
