Original era manufacture. At first glance, this looks to bean example of the commonly encountered BAR gunners belt, themetal cup on the right side. Not so, instead this is for the French Chauchat, made without the magazine pouches for the BAR, and instead having two,double magazine pouches for the M1911 pistol, one on each side of the connecting buckle.Maker marked on the reverse, R.H.LONG 3-18, once on theadjusting belt, and again on the left side.The belt displays storage wear and staining, likely never being issued. First example we have ever owned.
