Original era issue. Near new condition, Connecticut State Service Medal for WWI. Made by Robbins Company of Attleboro Mass, in it's original mailing box with separate ribbon bar. Named on the box lid to Clarence F. Korn, of Meriden CT. During the Great War, Mr. Korn served in the US Navy. Born in 1896, enlisting in the Navy on May 16th 1917, and assigned to the USS Finland in April 1918 in the rank of Yeoman 3rd Class. He received his discharge on the 1st of January 1919 now as a Yeoman 1st Class. The USS Finland was acquired by the US Navy in April 1918, carrying 13,000 troops to Europe prior to the Armistice. Afterwards, she returned 32,000 troops to the USA, before being decommissioned in December 1919. She was scrapped in 1928.
