Original era manufacture. Standard WWI pattern US made Doughboy helmet with an original hand applied 78th Division emblem on one side. The helmet's exterior shows normal service use and wear, with the colors of the 78th insignia remaining quite vivid. The 78th fought in the St.Mihiel & Meuse-Argonne offensives and suffered the loss of over 7,000 casualties during WWI.Shell only, no liner or chinstrap.
