Original era manufacture. Standard WWI pattern Doughboy helmet with an original painted 89th (Middle West) Division emblem on both sides with alight blue center representing the 177th Infantry Brigade. No liner, with the shell showing normal age and wear.The 89th Division arrived in France in June of 1918 and fought in the St.Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne offensives, they suffered the loss of over 7,000 casualties.
