Original era manufacture. A complete example of the US WWI steel helmet, unit marked on each side with what I believe indicates the 123rd Field Artillery Brigade. On the front of the helmet the letter "B" has been rubbed into the surface. Complete liner with a pliable leather chinstrap.  Tied to the liner is an old tag identifying this as the 60th FA Bde, however the book, "Painted Steel" by Chris Arnold, page 56 shows otherwise.
