Original era manufacture. Olive brown wool, issue quality visor hat with darkened bronze insignia and buttons. Brown leather bound visor and adjustable chinstrap.The sweatband is securely sewn to the body of the hat, with a complete lining without tears or holes. Written on the underside of the sweatband is Sergeant Edward Cipra, Troop H 12th Cavalry.Overall the hat is quite sound without moth damage. Doing a quick peak on Ancestry, finds Edward Cipra enlisting in the US Army in May of 1918, and serving on the Mexican border until 1922.
