Original era manufacture. A well used pair of classic US Cavalry saddle bags in brown leather, correct for the pattern of 1904. The bags are complete with all straps and the canvas liners. The leather has stiffened from age but remains pliable enough for handling. The surface exhibits residue from an old saddle-soap application, this treatment attracted our old friends the bugs, who left an intricate trail on the surface of the bags, as they wandered willy-nilly while devouring the natural lanolin in the soap. These need an intelligent cleaning, and once done will work fine for display.
