Original era manufacture. A nice quality private purchase Infantry Field Grade officers dress hat with a Ridabock logo in the lining.Dark blue wool top with an Infantry blue band with gold brocade stripes at top and bottom. Thin gold brocade chinstrap secured with two rimless Connecticut National Guard buttons.Directly embroidered into the body of the hat is a gold wire US eagle, and into the top of the visor two sprays of gold wire oakleaves, indicating the officers rank to be Major to Colonel.The visor edge is bound, showing wear and fraying.Black silk lining with Ridabock logo, rather fragile but fairly complete sweatband, loose in spots.
