Original era manufacture. A very well made precision optical device made by the famous firm of Keuffel & Esser of New York. Fairly large for a handheld telescope, measuring 22 inches in the closed position with the endcaps removed and 28 inches in length when fully extended. It is marked Power 20 on it's optical tube above the makers name. The body is completely encased in a good quality leather with removable endcaps. The attaching straps have broken from age, fragments of them remain for a pattern. The optics are clear, again, being such a large device it's best to place the telescope on a rest so to make the focus adjustment easier. Keuffel & Esser were makers of precision measuring instruments for nearly 100 years with many US military contracts.
