Original era manufacture. Issue quality dress coat and trousers as worn by a USMC Sergeant with a single service stripe on each cuff. Inside the left shoulder is a faded blue ink issue stamp, and a similar stamp in the trouser waistband, Quartermaster Dept. U.S. Marine Corps. 1919-1920. All of the coat buttons are present, one needs to be resewn. The collar hooks are also present but a loop and one hook need to be resewn. These and the loose coat button are in a small plastic bag inside the coat pocket. On the collar are 1920's era USMC enlisted collar emblems. Coat size is a 40 regular, no moth issues to speak of. The chevrons are hand sewn to the sleeve with an attractive decorative stitch. Issue quality steel blue trousers with a one inch wool stripe down the outside of each leg. Belt loops and suspender buttons around the waistband, with a watch pocket (small tear on one side), two front slash pockets, no hip pockets. Heavy white cotton lined waistband with issue stamps and size marked 5-S, button fly, all buttons are present. Waistband measures 32.5 inches, inseam 30 inches, making the trousers a proper fit for the tunic size. Again, no moth issues to report. An honest set overall, light age and wear.
