Original era manufacture. A privately made knife by Percy R. Huff of Berlin NY. The double edged blade measures 8.5 inches in length, and is quite sharp. Brass guard and knuckles, with a nicely finished wooden grip, with a pommel displaying the initials of the owner.Simple leather sheath of thick leather, pommel strap is intact.The knife is sound, displaying light age and use. Percy R. Huff was a part-time knife maker in Berlin New York. During WWII he made a number of knives for the local boys who had gone to war. The pommel of each displaying the initials of the man for whom the knife was made.There is an interesting link on the net which can befound by searching Percy R. Huff Knife. A newspaper article dated 1944, shows a photo of Mr. Huff with a number of his knives.The text stated that he had made over 90 of the them up to that point. These are original WWII collector items, made by, or for soldiers fighting in the Pacific and European Theaters during the war; sold as collector items only.The possession ofthese knives in some states/countries is prohibited.
