Original period manufacture. Standard WWI era US issue gasmask. The face mask and hose are fairly rigid, I have not attempted to remove them from the bag for fear of damaging them, the demisting can is inside.Written on the reverse of the bag itself is the original owners name, Floyd Huffman, who served in Company I, 309th Infantry, 78th Division in WWI. The 78th was a National Army Division, and saw combat in the Meuse-Argonne, and St. Mihiel offensives in France. Two of its number were awarded the Medal of Honor, and the division suffered the loss of over 7, 000 casualties.
