Original era manufacture. Standard WWI US Army enlisted four pocket tunic, with rimless eagle buttons. Philadelphia QM Depot tag in the hem.Written on the lining is the soldiers service number 2396918, which matches the service number on the two matching ID tags, named to John A. Morris.On the left sleeve is a French made Air Service Mechanics SSI, red velvet honorable discharge stripe and two overseas stripes on the cuff. On the right sleeve is a single Air Service Corporal chevron with the winged prop worked in silver wire. US & Air Service discs on the collar and front left of the British made overseas hat. Minor mothing to the tunic; three buttons are missing, on the two epauletes and one on the front.Ancestry provides some information on John A. Morris. He sailed for France on the 22nd of June 1918 on the SS Patria; listed as a Private, forming part of the 9th Company, 3rd Motor Mechanics Regiement A.S. S.C. Excellent base for further research.
