Original era manufacture. Identified USMC uniform grouping purchased locally several years back from the family of the Marine. It includes his forest green wool tunic, with 5th Marine Regiment SSI on the left shoulder, honorable discharge stripe, two overseas stripes, and a pair of gold paint highlighted EGA collar discs. On the left chest is a Victory Medal ribbon with three stars, and below a Marine Sharpshooter badge. On the right chest is a 1938 dated, Indianapolis VFW convention badge, named to Thos. E. Heck. French Croix de Guerre Fourragere, Matching material breeches, a pair of Army puttees, two Indiana VFW hats, a pair of WWI USMC Pfc crossed rifles, wool scarf and a USMC honorable discharge button. No major moth issues to report, save for a few small pencil-point bites scattered here and there on the tunic and breeches. Ancestry shows Private Heck serving in the Marines from May 1918-August 1919, with service in France beginning in September 1918. Size about a 38
