Original period manufacture. Set of two, handstamped identity discs, issued to a Walter L. Haight, one pair names him as a Lieutenant with the 121st Field Artillery, the other pair when he was promoted to Captain in the same unit. One pair (Captain) has the original neckcord, the other set the neckcord was removed. The 121st Field Artillery Regiment, served with the 32nd Infantry Division during WWI. Doing a quick search on Ancestry, I found a listing of wounded soldiers arriving at Newport News aboard the troopship USS Pocahontas, formerly the German Prinzess Irene. Captain Walter L Haight's name appears there, suffering from gunshot wounds to both arms and knee. In addition he published a book entitled Racine County in the World War, which is available online. His name appears in the book several times, noting his service as Battalion Adjutant, and four clasps to his Victory Medal. His photograph is printed inside the front cover. Certainly worthy of further research.
