Original era manufacture. Very sound, tan khaki canvas carrying satchel with an adjustable shoulder strap, and twine body tie. The mask is size marked 3, and is very pliable, no flaking or stiffness and the eyepieces are clear. The black cotton head harness is complete, however the central brow strap has broken away from the top edge of the mask. The flutter-valve is long gone as usual. The pliable hose is not crushed, or attached to the mask, but fits easily onto the metal tube opening, green painted original filter is not rusted through. Issue record card is present. Stamped inside the satchel cover flap are two letters, I. C., which stand for "Inspected, Condemned", placed there by Army inspectors who found some fault with the mask long ago. A near complete example with a very pliable face mask and hose, normally the masks are found in a near petrified state.
