Original period manufacture. A tragic image of a casualty of the Great War, with the subject being the skeletal remains of a British or Commonwealth soldier in No Man's Land. Produced by the Keystone View Company, card V18837, as part of a Stereo View set after the end of WWl. Images such as this one, graphically illustrate the true cost of war, much like Alexander Gardner's images of the dead from the Antietam Battlefield did in 1862. Forever destroying the lie of the glory of war.
