Original era manufacture. Dark finish blade dated 1917 and made by the Springfield Arsenal. Rough finish walnut grips, lock button works properly. The blade finish is quite clean with some scattered age spots but no real corrosion. The edge shows some shallow nicks near the point and along the cutting edge, none very deep and should dress out fairly well. Leather mounted canvas scabbard shows staining and wear from service use but does have a soldiers name and CO.A.133rd Inf (34th Division WWI). written near the tip. Honest and complete WWI Doughboy bayonet.
