Original period manufacture. A very sound example of a classic American bayonet of WWI. Springfield Arsenal manufacture and dated 1918, mix of blue and steel patina finish to the blade, with no nicks or sharpening, slight bend at the tip. Matching finish to the guard and pommel with an operable lock button. Original rough hewn wooden grips, with a small chip below the pommel on the right side.   Sound canvas covered wooden bodied scabbard, stitched on one side, with a USMC style 1910 belt hook. The leather chape at the bottom is intact.
