Original era manufacture. Bright blade M1909 Bolo maker markedPlumbPhila and dated 1917. Now that is pretty late in the game for this pattern of bolo and made by a company normally seen in the production of the M1917. Thanks to our customer Scott M for pointing this out. The blade is basically clean with some areas of age cloudingand some very lightcorrosion peppering, Original cutting edge, with clear markings on both sides of the ricasso. Decent wooden grips showing typical marring and bumping from service use, with three brass securing rivets and brass pommel cap. There is a thin chip on the obverse grip running back from the guard beyond the first rivet. The scabbard while a good fit, is incorrect for this knife, being originally intended for the large machate made by Collins.
