Original era manufacture. A very clean example with a bright finished blade clearly marked SA (Springfield Arsenal) and dated 1912. The cutting edge shows evidence of an old sharpening, but nothing horrible, the steel isbright, and there is no corrosion pitting.Blue finished guard showing surface wear to its edges, lock button works properly, with minor marring to the surfaces of rough hewn walnut grips. The left side grip plate shows set of initials MI, lightly carved into its surface years ago.The scabbard is very clean, with no stainsor fraying, seamed on the side, with a single catch at the scabbard throat.
