Original era manufacture. Early pattern bolo with the lock mechanism in the guard. Springfield Arsenal manufactured in 1917, complete with it's proper scabbard with locking hook. About 30% of the original finish remains on the blade, scattered areas of surface corrosion but no deep pitting. Steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, original finish grips, with operable lock mechanism. Staining to the canvas scabbard fabric from service use and wear.
