Original era manufacture. A pre-war design, with a lock mechanism on the guard, and normally seen with a bright finished blade. The blade ricasso displaysthe serial number 8846, 1917 date, and maker marked SA (Springfield Arsenal). Now with a subdued finish to the blade surface. There is some light denting along the top of the blade spine, and evidence of a light sharpening to the cutting edge, down a long time ago. Typical canvas & leather covered wooden sheath, maker marked and dated, Brauer Brothers 1918.
