Original era manufacture. A rather scarce US shell casing for the 37 mm Gun, Model of 1916. Nicely etched on the sides, honoring the men of the Signal Platoon, HQ Company, 351st Infantry. During the War, the 351st Infantry served with the 88th Infantry Division in France.This casing was once part of the famed Trench Art collection of Jane A. Kimball, author of the book, "Trench Art, An Illustrated History". A photo of her book is shown for context, it is not included in the price.
