Original era manufacture. Standard pattern US M1917 bayonet, in beautiful originalcondition. Near 100% original parkerizedfinish to the blade, to include the blue finish band at the ricasso. No sharpening, clear makers and issue marks, and a very sharp tip.Blue finish to the guard and pommel with a slight amount of finish wear to the edges. Original finish wood grips in undamaged condition.Original finish 2nd pattern scabbard with a green painted leather body, and a dark, parkerized type finish to the throat and chape. The leather body is maker marked JEWELL, and dated 1918. Really difficult to believe this bayonet is near 100 years old, as it looks as if it were made yesterday.
