Original era manufacture. A British inspired bayonet, made under contract for Great Britain in the US prior to WWI, and adopted for use after America's entry into the war, with the US M1917 rifle. Remington manufacture, with a second pattern scabbard. The blade is very clean and shows the British proofs removed with a US stamped in their place. Nice original wood grips, with a mix of blue and steel patina finish to the guard and pommel. Very sound 2nd pattern scabbard.
