Original era manufacture. A very nice example of a Winchester produced M1917 bayonet. The blade exhibits most of its original finish, factory edge and the small blue band on both sides of the ricasso. Original blue finish to the guard and pommel, with an operable lock button, original finish to the wooden grips, with minimal marring from handling. There is some scattered areas of oil/cosmoline staining on the blade, but zero pitting. We have not made any attempt to clean this, just as it came to us. There is grease still in the stud slot and the clean-out hole in the pommel.
