Original era manufacture. Now here is a rarity; a named US WWI Victory Medal with Destroyer clasp, named on the edge British fashion to Lieut. Comdr. John H. Culin U.S.N. USS FAIRFAX.The USS Fairfax was a Wickes class destroyer commissioned in 1917. She performed escort and patrol duties, rescuing 86 survivors of the torpedoed  USS Lucia. She formed part of the escort for President Wilson on his peace mission to France in 1918. Fairfax was exchanged to Great Britain in 1940 and was renamed HMS Richmond, she performed further patrol duties in the Atlantic, until given to the Russians in 1944. Further patrol duties on the Archangel-Murmansk run, where she hunted U-Boats. Returned to Britain in 1949, she was scrapped that same year. John H. Culin appears in Ancestry, from 1908-1925, his postwar service 1923-1925, shows him part of the Marine establishment at Port a Prince Haiti.
