Original era manufacture. Dark blue wool gaberdine coat with black mohair trim. Bullion collar anchors, single gold brocade sleeve stripe on each cuff. Line officer stars on each cuff with a single overseas stripe on the left.Full sleeve and body lining, with a Gallagher & Cassidy, Brooklyn NY tailors tag on the inside of the coat; inside the pocket is a matching tailor's name tag, with the name D.W. Swift, and date 8/23/18.Doing a quick look on Ancestry, David W. Swift, Ensign, shows up seeing service aboard the USS Westerner during WWI. The coat appears to be about a size 36 Long, with a 10 x 8 mm hole on the right sleeve mothing-wise. There is some service wear in the form of fraying on the right cuff and top of the collar. Minor snagging to the surface of the mohair, with some light staining to the fabric on the left upper arm, rear. The WWI Victory Medal ribbon is a wide Navy pattern.
