Original era manufacture. This is an interesting lot recently purchased here in Arizona, consisting of paperwork and souvenirs of a US Navy sailor who served in France during WWI.The lot includes his blue denim Ditty Bag, a small black & white photograph of the sailor, a small pocket diary, a German WWI enlisted tunic button, a blue enamel German canteen and a blob of molten glass recovered from the ruins of Rheims Cathedral. In addition there are several hand written cards detailing other souvenirs he had brought home with him which are now missing. Of note, the molten glass has a distinct rose color hue to it, and it may have been part of the famous Rose Window at the cathedral dating to the Medieval era.
