Original era manufacture. Standard length T-Handle Shovel, with a US stamp on the steel shank and wooden shaft. Traces of an old dark green paint finish remain on the blade and handle.There is a residue of either old dried dirt, or light concrete on the blade surface. This residue wants to come off with a little water and abrasive. Touch of surface corrosion at the tip of the blade.The handle has a crack in the wood, just above the lower steel fitting. Overall the shovel exhibits wear and use.Sound, khaki color original shovel cover with a clear US stencil on the front, and on the reverse, the makers name, A.J. Bates Co 8-18. Stained from wear and age, no holes or tears.
