Original era manufacture. A nicely made figural letter opener made from shell brass during WWI. Overall it measures 8.25 inches in length, and at center is the profile of an American Doughboy wearing his campaign hat. German rifle shell casing which has had a 3-D brass French rooster, in addition to being a French national emblem, it was also used by American ambulance drivers as their shoulder sleeve insignia during the war.
